Mohamed Fofana is a self-taught eclectic artist born in the Ivory Coast, West Africa and raised in Memphis, TN. He credits San Jose and the Bay Area for reigniting his artistic passions since relocating in 2016. What started out as a hobby to express himself and make artwork for his apartment is now MFTheBrand. He has designed artwork for the San Jose Sharks celebration of Juneteenth in 2020, designed the Sharks Black History Night jersey in 2021- the first BHM jersey design in NHL history- and was featured in Complex in 2022 for his GOAT Series highlighting the 50th anniversary of Title IX. He uses his art to capture the beauty of the people in his world, to champion their story, to make them feel seen, valued and worthy of being art. Some of his works are also codified to bring awareness to social injustices and important subject matters.
